2. BenefitsCheckUp

Did you know there are more than 2,500 programs in the U.S. to help older adults pay for things like health care, medicine, food, utilities and more? The National Council on Aging created a comprehensive online tool. Their goal: to help you find local health related services and savings programs you may qualify for and apply for them. Plus, the tool is private.

To take advantage of these benefits, all you have to do is find the right ones for you. Visit BenefitsCheckUp.org to learn more.

3. Covered annual screenings and vaccines

Staying up to date on your medical exams is important for your overall health. You have the following benefits available to you at no added cost. Make sure you schedule your visits if you haven’t already. Can’t make your in-person appointment? No problem. You can get care from home with participating providers who offer telehealth appointments.

  • Annual Wellness Visit (A yearly visit with your primary care provider that includes a personal prevention plan and routine checks.)
  • Yearly hearing exam
  • Annual physical (A yearly exam that may include bloodwork and other important tests.)
  • Yearly vision exam

You’re also covered for many screenings that are needed for better health. For example, diabetes, breast cancer and depression screenings. Make sure you schedule these important appointments if you haven’t already.

  • Vaccines. It’s never too early to get your flu shot, COVID-19 booster or respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) immunizations. Ask your provider if you’re due for any of these important vaccines.
  • Mammogram. The American Cancer Society recommends women over age 55 get mammograms every 2 years.* Men can also get breast cancer. Ask your provider screenings based on your health history and risk level.
  • Colonoscopy. The American Cancer Society recommends getting a colonoscopy every five to 10 years starting at age 45.* Colonoscopies and other screenings can help catch problems early when they’re often easier to treat.
  • Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test. In men, a PSA test can help catch prostate cancer. It’s important to get a baseline PSA test to know what number is normal for you.

4. Preferred Pharmacy

Your plan includes savings on Part D prescription drugs at in-network pharmacies. With most plans, your prescriptions will only be covered if you use an in-network pharmacy. But you may be able to save even more if you use a preferred pharmacy.

There are two types of in-network pharmacies: standard and preferred. You may pay a higher out-of-pocket cost at a standard network pharmacy than at a preferred network pharmacy. Here are some pharmacies that participate with our preferred network. Check with your local pharmacy to see if they participate.

  • Albertsons®
  • Costcov Pharmacy
  • CVS Pharmacy® stores
  • Kroger®
  • Publix Super Markets
  • Safeway
  • Walmart
